Should you read The Night Parade?

I read The Night Parade, the fourth book in the Harper series. I don’t recommend it for everyone. The story centers around a Myrmeen, a fighter turned city ruler, who tries to find the child that she thought died shortly after birth. After she finds out that it was a lie, she sets out on a quest to retrieve her long lost daughter. The catch is that nobody is sure she’s the real long lost daughter. The daughter is a teenager. Her name isn’t important. She acts like an impulsive teenager and she has amnesia. She can’t remember her past because shapeshifting demons from another dimension have altered her memory. It’s like reading a soap opera. I prefer space operas. I think the story was meant for a mother. I couldn’t relate to the main character and I didn’t like how wishy-washy she felt about finding her daughter and whether there is a real connection between them. I realize people can waffle on how they feel about somebody, but it was annoying to me. However, if you like fantasy and soap operas you’ll probably like it. The first three books in harper series are better.
